Headcount Labs / Optional analytics
Your choice about website analytics
Updated October 6, 2026. This supplement describes optional analytics on public pages of headcountlabs.com. It does not replace account or service terms.
Off until you agree
The cookie banner offers Accept or Minimum cookies. Nothing is measured until you choose Accept. Minimum cookies keeps only one cookie, which remembers your choice for 180 days, and removes any analytics cookies; the site works the same either way. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. We also respect an enabled Global Privacy Control signal.
What is measured after you allow it
- A random first-party browser identifier lasting up to 90 days, separately on each domain. It identifies a browser, not a verified person.
- A session identifier with a 30-minute inactivity timeout and a maximum duration of 24 hours.
- Reviewed public-page paths, familiar referring website names, approved link or button actions, active-time estimates, scroll depth, visibility of generic page sections, and numeric performance/error signals.
Page URLs are stripped of query strings and fragments. Unknown referral hosts, private account/workspace pages, form contents, resumes, error messages and sensitive-topic pages are excluded. We do not use session recordings, canvas/font fingerprinting, cross-site identity matching or visitor identity enrichment. Visibility and time do not prove that a person read or understood a page.
PostHog and retention
PostHog US Cloud receives the permitted events and displays them in our private analytics project. Its Free plan has one-year event retention. The project is configured to discard client IP addresses from stored events, and our events disable geographic enrichment. Like any network service, the receiving infrastructure sees the connection's IP address while handling a request. Optional third-party AI analysis and internal AI training are disabled for this project.
Withdrawing and requesting help
Withdrawal stops future events from this page and removes analytics identifier cookies where the browser permits it. It cannot recall an event already delivered. If saving your choice fails, the control tells you; you can clear this site's cookies through your browser settings. Past server access logs are separate from this optional measurement.
For questions or requests concerning your analytics records, contact support@headcountlabs.com. The Privacy choices control can display your current browser label; do not send passwords, tokens or private application information.
