The position is responsible for researching grant opportunities, writing grant proposals, and the compilation and submission of funding proposals and grant applications as approved by SYHealth executive team.\n\nEssential Functions of the Job:\n\nDevelop and submit complete, well-written, and accurate funding proposals and grant applications that are consistent with SYHealth quality standards.\nConduct data queries and research using both internal and external sources.\nThoroughly review Requests for Proposals (RFP), Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFO), and grant-related instructions to ensure that the program design, project narrative, budget, reporting, and other grant-specific requirements of the funder are addressed in the proposal.\nWork closely with the department director or their designee to learn about and gain a thorough understanding of the program/project being proposed for the funding. Serve as the internal lead and primary point of contact for assigned grant projects.\nProvide grant budget development support as needed. Coordinate with the Grant Accounting Manager or their designee throughout the budget development process.\nMaintain understanding of SYHealth organizational history, structure, objectives, programs, strategic plan, and financial needs.\nCoordinate planning discussions with multi-level positions throughout the health center.\nMaintain complete and organized grant files, including all grant development drafts and documents, applications/proposals, award letters, reports, relevant correspondence with the grant agency, etc.\n\nAdditional Duties and Responsibilities\n\nEnhances professional growth and development through participation in trainings, workshops, and conferences.\nAttends meeting as required and participates on committees as directed.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned or requested.\n\nJob Requirements\nEducation Required:\n\nBachelor’s Degree required\n\nExperience Required:\n\n3 years of grant writing at a professional level is preferred.\nExperience in a nonprofit organization, community clinic, or other health care environment preferred.\n\nVerbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job:\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication required.\n\nTechnical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:\n\nExperience and knowledge with Microsoft Office Software.\nKnowledge of government and private funding sources and practices.\nExcellent grammar and writing.\nStrong research skills and a broad knowledge of sources of information and statistics at national, state, and county levels.\n\nEquipment Used:\n\nPersonal Computer.\n\nWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements:\n\nOffice environment and prolonged periods of sitting, occasional visits to clinic and program sites.\n\nUniversal Requirements:\nPre-employment requirements include I-9, physical, positive background and reference check results, complete application, new hire orientation, pre-employment PPDs.
