Choose a property that fits your personality: the Amway Grand Plaza, JW Marriott Grand Rapids, AC Hotel by Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott Downtown -- and start your unstoppable career here.*\n\n**This is a full-time position requiring weekend availability.**\n\n**This position is eligible for full benefits (medical, dental & vision), 401K, paid vacation, discounted downtown parking, free employee meals, hotel and restaurant discounts and more.**\n\n**SUMMARY:**\n\nThe Housekeeping Runner is an integral part of the Housekeeping team who collectively is responsible for delivering various requested guest room items to guests and associates throughout their shift.\n\n**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**\n\n\\-Greet guests immediately with friendly/sincere acknowledgement  \n\\-Provide customer service to guests, including information about hotel services, activities and local attractions  \n\\-Timely address guest complaints and/or requests with professionalism and patience within a ten minute time frame  \n\\-Make sure that all items delivered to the guest rooms are clean and in working order  \n\\-Check storerooms for availability of pack & play's, microwaves, refrigerators, fans, ozone machines, etc. and ensure they are in safe condition  \n\\-Reports maintenance deficiencies in order to maintain guest rooms in compliance with hotel standards  \n\\-Replenishes linen and guest amenities  \n\\-Assists co-workers as requested  \n\\-Work in a fast-paced environment, flexible with spontaneous demands from guests and for business needs.  \n\\-Display professional image at all times through appearance and conduct  \n\\-Within position scope, ensure hotel is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA  \n\\-Uses the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): gloves and safety glasses, as needed  \n\\-Report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly to management  \n\\-Regular attendance in keeping with guidelines established by the company and site are essential to the successful performance of this position.  \n\\-Carries out reasonable requests of supervisor or management.  \n\\-Have knowledge about all emergency procedures and know how to act on them.\n\n**REQUIRED SKILLS:**\n\nPhysically able to move large and heavy objects such as: carts, large bags of linen, ironing board, furniture, mattresses.  \nAbility to read and recognize room numbers.  \nAbility to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form.  \nAbility to learn, follow and enforce standards for cleanliness as they apply to all aspects of room.  \nAbility to follow all safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.  \nAble to lift 75lbs; push/pull carts of 150lbs.\n\n**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:**\n\nPrevious experience in hospitality is preferred, but not needed.\n\n**PHSYICAL REQUIREMENTS:**\n\nAbility to be on feet 8 hours per day  \nAble to bend, twist, kneel, push and lift up to 50 pounds  \nIs required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects  \nIs required to frequently reach with hands and arms  \nIs occasionally required to sit and stoop;
