Working independently, this role performs complex landscaping tasks, operates commercial-grade equipment safely, and ensures the proper care of plant materials and other landscape elements.\n\n**Duties and Responsibilities:**\n\n* Proactively maintain site detail\n* Lead and perform job duties when the Crew Leader is not on site\n* Work with the Crew Leader to solve problems and overcome job and schedule challenges\n* Complete punch list items without supervision\n* Offer solutions to deliver quality results\n* Cut turf using various-sized power mowers, trimming, and edging using a gas-powered edger/trimmer, and operating a gas-powered blower\n* Prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches\n* Identify irrigation system problems and work with the Crew Leader to correct\n* Properly repair broken sprinkler heads\n* Plant and maintain flower beds\n* Operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences, and other objects\n* Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris onto the turf before mowing.\n* Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing.\n* Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe\n* Train team members on preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers; connect trucks and trailers safely and correctly\n* Identify common weeds and recommend methods for control\n* Coach and remind the team of the “Safety Topic” tailgate talk throughout the week/month\n* Assist the Crew Leader/Production Manager in coaching team members\n* Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with guests and customers\n\n**Education and Experience:**\n\n* At least 18 years old\n* Enthusiastic and dependable\n* Ability to safely work with equipment like power saws and cutters\n* Certified on level 3 equipment (bed edger, chainsaw, power pole, pruner, leaf vacuum, skid steer)\n* Certified to apply pesticides\n* Has demonstrated 6 months of accident-free performance\n\n**Physical Demands/Requirements:**\n\n* Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)\n* Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)\n* Be at least 18 years old (21 if operating company provided vehicles)\n* Possess strong stamina and have the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.\n* Able to safely operate landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers).\n* Able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stand, walk continuously throughout the day and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.\n* Able to perform manual labor using a variety of hand tools (e.g. shovels, rakes)\n* You are able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, head protection)\n* Landscapers who will be operating a BrightView fleet vehicle are required to have a valid driver’s license and meet company standards as it relates motor vehicle performance identified on a state issued motor vehicle record check.\n* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed.\n* Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur.\n\n**Work Environment:**\n\n* Ability to work outdoors/indoors in moderate to extreme weather conditions (e.g., temperatures more than 100°F, temperatures below 32°F, various levels of humidity)\n* Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.\n* Work outdoors near automotive traffic, bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical and/or electrical hazards.\n* Ability to work in environments where extended periods of loud noise are present.\n* Ability to work in environments where exposure to allergens such as pollen and rag weed, insects such as bees and spiders and reptiles such as lizards and snakes.\n\n### *BrightView Landscapes, LLC is an Equal Opportunity and E-Verify Employer.*\n\n### *This job description is subject to change at any time.*\n\n***BrightView offers a suite or health, wellness, and financial benefits to full-time team members.
