The data

What is Headcount Labs?

Headcount Labs collects open job postings from over 200,000 job boards and company career sites and merges the duplicates. You can get the jobs through a REST API, or connect Headcount Labs to Claude, Codex or any other MCP client.

What is contained in the database?

The database contains broad-based coverage of open job postings around the globe.

How many jobs and countries do you cover?

About 10.1 million job postings from employers in 237 countries, with the deepest coverage in the United States. Every kind of role is included, from hourly work to executive positions. The coverage page lists the jobs in every country.

Which applicant tracking systems do you read?

Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SmartRecruiters, iCIMS, Oracle, SuccessFactors, Paycom, Dayforce, Apploi, Personio, Teamtailor, Recruitee, Workable, Softgarden, Zoho Recruit and more, plus companies’ own career sites. The coverage page lists every platform we read.

What is in each job record?

Title, employer, locations, work arrangement (remote, hybrid or on-site), employment type, pay when the employer publishes it, the full description, the date the employer posted it, the date we first saw it, and the link to apply. The original source fields come with it.

How do you handle duplicates?

The same opening often appears on a company site and on several job boards. We fold those postings into one job, keep every source link, and count it once. In our latest check, 98.6% of merges were correct.

What happens when a field is missing?

It stays empty. We never fill in a guess or a zero, so you can tell “not published” apart from a real value.

Freshness

How fresh is your job board?

We are continuously discovering new job postings throughout the day. Every ATS board is scraped at least once every 24 hours, so the data stays current on which roles are open.

Do you provide historical data?

We are working to provide this as soon as possible! Check back soon.

How do I know a job is still open?

Each job carries its status (current, stale or closed at the source) and the date we last checked it. Closed jobs keep their history, so you can filter them out or study them.

Plans and billing

How does pricing work?

Monthly plans by job volume: 500 jobs a month free, then from $10 for 5,000 jobs up to $500 for 500,000. One price list covers the API and the MCP connector. More than 500,000 a month? Talk to us.

How do your prices compare?

Headcount Labs costs 1.8 to 22 times less than the biggest job-data APIs for the same number of jobs a month, with the same kind of data: deduplicated postings, a link to every original posting, and daily re-checks. The pricing page has the side-by-side table.

How do credits work?

Every job you retrieve spends one credit, including a job you fetched before.

How do API requests work?

Every call to the API spends one request, however many jobs it returns. Each plan includes half as many requests as credits.

Do unused jobs carry over?

Yes. Unused jobs and API requests stay in your account for 12 months. If you run out, calls are refused until your next monthly allowance arrives, unless you turn on overage (paid plans only). You can also upgrade at any time: you pay only the price difference, the extra jobs and requests are added at once, and your billing date stays the same. To move to a smaller plan, choose it on your account's Billing page: you keep your current plan and everything left in it until your next billing date, then the smaller plan starts at its lower price. Nothing is refunded for the current month, and you can keep your current plan at any time before then.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. The free plan gives you 500 jobs a month with no card needed, and the sample records show real job records.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. Plans are monthly. Cancel from your account and your plan runs to the end of the month you paid for.

Connecting

How do I get the data?

As JSON from the REST API, 25 jobs per call with a cursor for the next page, or in plain words through the MCP connector. See the docs.

How do I connect Claude or Codex?

Run claude mcp add --transport http headcountlabs https://api.headcountlabs.com/mcp or codex mcp add headcountlabs --url https://api.headcountlabs.com/mcp, then sign in when your client asks. The connector uses your plan’s monthly jobs.
