Headcount Labs in ChatGPT
Search, count and read open job postings from a ChatGPT chat.
Until Headcount Labs is listed in ChatGPT's app directory, add it yourself in developer mode. It takes about a minute.
Add it in developer mode
- In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps (some versions call it Connectors or Apps & Connectors).
- Open Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
- Choose Create. Name it Headcount Labs, paste the server URL below, and set Authentication to OAuth.
- Choose Create, sign in with your Headcount Labs account, and approve access.
- Start a new chat, choose Headcount Labs from the tools menu, and ask a question about jobs.
https://api.headcountlabs.com/mcpDeveloper mode is offered on paid ChatGPT plans. In a Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin may need to allow it first. No Headcount Labs account yet? Create one; the free plan includes 1,000 jobs a month.
Things to ask
- How many data engineer jobs are open in Germany right now?
- Find remote software engineer jobs in the US posted in the last week.
- Show me registered nurse jobs in Texas that list pay.
- How many Headcount Labs jobs do I have left this month?
What it can do
The same tools as every other MCP client: count jobs, search jobs by title, company, place, work arrangement, pay and posting date, open one job with every posting it was found on, save up to 5,000 jobs to a file, and check your usage. The full list is on MCP tools. It only reads job data: it cannot apply to jobs or contact employers.
Your monthly jobs
Counting jobs, listing filters, checking usage and searching the docs are free. Each job a search or a job lookup returns counts toward your monthly plan, and every answer says how many jobs it used and how many are left. Before one search would use more than your confirmation level (25% of the month by default), the assistant asks you first. See rate limits and job credits.
Other clients
Claude, Codex, Cursor and Grok use the same URL: see MCP server and Headcount Labs in Grok.
